SUMMARY:Giant Grouper Farm Tour
DESCRIPTION:Click here to register!\n \n  \nJoin us for a visit to Hong Kong’s only indoor giant grouper farm! Gareth Kwok\, one of the founders of the company\, will give us a tour of the facilities where we will see the delicate balance required to maintain a clean environment for healthy\, tasty fish. The tour will be followed by a special meal featuring the farm’s grouper at a local restaurant. \nTransportation will be provided by shuttle from Tsim Sha Tsui. Participants also will receive a VIP membership card for discounts on home deliveries of fresh\, local grouper! \nAquaculture Technologies raise giant grouper at their sophisticated facility in Lau Fau Shan. These amazing fish grow to up to 2.7 meters in length and can weigh up to 400 kg. Giant groupers are one of the most sought-after species in many parts of Asia. According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature\, this species is now under threat due to overfishing. Using a special water re-circulation technology\, this large-scale\, indoor farming facility is the first to be recognized as an accredited fish farm by the Agriculture\, Fisheries\, and Conservation Department of Hong Kong. \nAquaculture Technologies has made tremendous efforts to source only hatchery-produced fish\, purchase traceable fish feed\, and invest significantly in its technology to minimize any pollution to the environment. We will learn about the sustainability of their production system\, and why this giant grouper farm has been assessed as Green (Recommended) in WWF’s latest Hong Kong Seafood Guide. \nThe price for members is HKD 360 and the price for non-members is HKD 430.
