Umami Workshop Session 3 – Secrets of the Umami Bomb
Our two initial umami workshops in May and June were popular – in Session 1 on the spectrum of umami, we discovered the secrets of the 5th dimension of taste and explored our personal ideas of deliciousness; in Session 2, we ventured out and went on an exquisite journey to discover umami ingredients in some food stores that promised to be true marvels – to find some products that would enrich our food/taste pantry at our homes.
In Session 3, we will show how-to create, and build your own Umami Bomb with Samantha Tam and Walter Kern, members of Slow Food Cooks’ Alliance in Hong Kong
You will learn to:
– understand how cooking techniques and preparation methods, to boost flavour;
– build different layers of Umami to achieve YOUR taste of deliciousness; and
– learn how to use/apply such Umami pastes (bomb) in your everyday cooking and as a super tasting condiment – to add some “zest” to your dishes.
