Slow Food Hong Kong’s visit to Gourmet House Chocolatier was the first in a series of visits to local food manufacturers who display an outstanding level of quality. Gourmet House is an exclusive, luxury Hong Kong chocolate company dedicated to producing the highest-quality premium chocolate specialties with the best ingredients from around the world such as the finest couverture chocolate from Switzerland. Besides hand-made chocolates, such as truffles and pralines, the company offers custom made petit fours and seasonal specialties.
Rene Frauenfelder, the manager of Gourmet House, took us on a personal tour of their facilities to see how these amazing products are made. We also got to taste their wonderful artisanal products and saw some of the creative chocolate gift boxes that they custom-design for 5-star hotels, airlines, restaurants and specialty shops.
We loved the experience and thank Rene and the company’s legendary founder, Juerg Meier, for our visit!
