In September Slow Food HK hosted Autumn Harvest Wellness Retreat in collaboration with our own Cook’s Alliance Chef Tina, and led by instructors Lawrence and Alla.
We started off with a meditation at the beautiful Silvermine Beach to refocus our energies, bringing calmness to body and mind. We then took the opportunity to reflect on 2024 and what we are grateful for. In farming harvest time is the time to be rewarded for the effort made throughout the year; although most of us do not work in fields where bringing more gratitude into our lives will help us to be calmer and happier.
Following through with the theme of gratitude and relaxation we moved on to yin yoga – this type of yoga is about slowing down and restoring our bodies, it targets deep connective tissues – the ligaments, joints, and fascia networks. And finally we were treated to a sound healing session – sounds of gong merged with sounds of waves and we felt as if we were floating on clouds. To round the evening off we headed to Chef Tina’s private kitchen where a five course home cooked meal was awaiting us.
We returned to the city refreshed, were we away only half a day or did we just go on a long holiday? If you missed this retreat, you are welcome to reach out to our SFHK member Alla for upcoming dates.
