On April 15, 2026, we had the pleasure of joining parents and staff at Renaissance College for a coffee morning talk on a topic close to all our hearts – and stomachs: Good, Clean & Fair Food.
Over coffee and conversation, we explored what Slow Food is really about: not slow cooking, but a thoughtful way of choosing food that brings pleasure, respects the environment, and supports the people who produce it.

What we shared
Parents learned how the simple framework of Good, Clean & Fair can guide everyday family food choices – no perfection required.
- Good – food that tastes wonderful and connects us to joy, culture, and each other.
- Clean – food produced in ways that protect animal welfare, human health, and the planet.
- Fair – affordable for families, with fair pay and conditions for small-scale producers.
We also talked about why local food matters – even in a city like Hong Kong. Fresher taste, fewer food miles, stronger connections to farmers, and the preservation of local food heritage.
Practical takeaways for busy families
Parents left with simple, low-stress ideas they could try right away:
- Swap one imported fruit for a local seasonal option.
- Take your child to a wet market and let them choose a new vegetable.
- Read a food label together and ask: Where did this come from?
- Turn leftovers into a “taste test” dinner to reduce waste.
- Follow Slow Food Hong Kong for local events and farm visits.
Thank you, Renaissance College, for having us!
